Rabid bat discovered at Beavertail State Park in Jamestown

The Rhode Island Department of Health announced a rabid bat was found in Beavertail State Park in Jamestown.

Health officials said the injured bat was located on July 30.

The bat was found by a worker near the Lighthouse Building.

Anyone who may have had direct contact with the bat should immediately call RIDOH’s Center for Acute Infectious Disease Epidemiology.
