Person dies after explosion and large fire at Tecumseh business, police say

Information about the victim has not been released. At one point, Kidney said downtown Tecumseh was covered in a “thick layer of smoke.” The cause of the explosion and fire is under investigation. Tecumseh Police Chief J.R. Kidney told KOCO 5 that part of the downtown area was evacuated because of the fire. He also said the fire department is reporting one death in connection with the explosion and fire.
