Maine wardens confirm search for 2 missing girls in town of Mexico

Update, 9:40 p.m. — According to Maine game wardens, the two missing girls have been found and are being evaluated by medical personnel. Two 8-year-old girls ran away from Mountain Valley Community School on Wednesday afternoon and were the focus of a multi-agency search in Mexico, Maine, officials said.Both girls are foster children, in state custody, and currently reside in Rumford, according to the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office.The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office was alerted to the missing children at approximately 5 p.m. and immediately deployed resources to the area.The Maine Warden Service also dedicated resources and organized the search. The sheriff’s office, Maine Warden Service, Maine State Police and Mexico Fire Department are all involved in the investigation and search.
