AJ Allmendinger – AJ Allmendinger was likely poised to be pretty stout last summer at Watkins Glen but under green, he didn’t even complete a single lap until he had a transmission issue on lap 6 just after a restart that marked the end of his race and led to his 36th.

Ryan Blaney – How good was Ryan Blaney last summer at Watkins Glen? Considering he didn’t even complete lap #1, I would say nobody knows.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. – Last summer at Watkins Glen, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was involved in the opening lap crash, he logged two laps in total following that and then called it a day which led to his 37th.

Christopher Bell – Christopher Bell had an eventful race last summer at Watkins Glen and finished 14th. In the race, Bell was involved in a lap #1 accident, had driven up to 13th on lap 58 but then just after that on lap 62, Austin Dillon spun him out while he was coming to pit road which dropped him back to the high 20’s. If Bell didn’t have problems, I think you can safely say he was likely poised to be a top ten contender.
