Olivia and Liam were once again the most popular baby names in the United States in 2025, marking the seventh consecutive year both names have held the top spot, according to the Social Security Administration.

The rankings are based on Social Security card applications submitted at birth, which the agency uses to track naming trends nationwide each year.

Among girls’ names, Olivia remained number one, while Charlotte climbed into second place, ending Emma’s six-year run as the runner-up.

Eliana entered the top 10 for the first time, replacing Ava, which fell out of the list after years among the most popular choices.

For boys, the top four names remained unchanged from previous years, with Liam, Noah, Oliver, and Theodore continuing to lead the rankings.
