Liverpool were consistently linked with an interest in Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon in recent transfer windows. But it seems that there are other clubs now in the race.
The winger has been linked with a move from Newcastle this summer, with Bayern Munich showing an interest.
Gordon has missed the last month due to a hip injury. He was back in the squad for the win over Brighton last weekend.
He was again named on the bench for Sunday’s draw against Nottingham Forest. But was again overlooked by manager Eddie Howe.
It comes after the Newcastle head coach said that he would not pick anyone who is not 100 per cent committed to the cause.
Could his time on the bench be a transfer hint from Howe, or is he simply giving him more time for recovery?
