Kelly Wearstler Designed This $27.5 Million Brentwood Estate

Behind the understated exterior of this whitewashed New England–style mansion in Los Angeles’s prestigious Brentwood Park neighborhood lies a surprisingly eclectic showcase of high design.

Originally built in 2001 and designed by acclaimed architect Thomas Proctor, the 9,700-square-foot residence has recently undergone a chic transformation by celebrated designer Kelly Wearstler, whose celebrity clientele includes Gwen Stefani, Elton John, and Cameron Diaz. Known for her bold maximalist aesthetic, Wearstler infused the sprawling home with richly saturated tones and artistic stone accents throughout.

The foyer features an elegant curved staircase, the formal living room is anchored by a sculptural fireplace framed by two carved stone orbs, and the dining room unfolds beneath a statement light fixture with ample space for large gatherings.

The casual heart of the home is the sun-filled great room, where a fireplace-warmed lounge sits beside a cozy breakfast nook with a curving banquette. Nearby, the kitchen pairs dark wood floors with veined white stone countertops and backsplashes, while a waterfall-edge island and custom white cabinetry conceal integrated appliances. A playful energy carries through to the children’s playroom, which opens to a covered outdoor living area complete with a grill, fireplace, and putting green. Beyond, the pool terrace is lined with oversized loungers and umbrellas.

In the primary suite, the soaking tub is carved from the same stone that wraps the floors and walls.

Altogether, the home includes five bedrooms and nine bathrooms. The primary suite is a serene, wood-paneled retreat with plush carpeting and a subtle ’70s-inspired feel. Beneath soaring vaulted ceilings, the bedroom connects to dual mirrored walk-in closets and a spacious stone bathroom where the soaking tub is sculpted from the same stone as the floors and walls. The remaining bedrooms are all en suite.

Elsewhere are a library and game room, a second-floor study lined with built-in shelving, a home theater, and two laundry rooms. Near the pool, a detached guesthouse houses a gym and cabana.
