A man who has been previously accused of breaking slot machines in Hialeah was arrested again for the same crime on Monday, authorities said.
Alejandro Izaguirre, 50, was charged with third-degree grand theft and criminal mischief.
According to authorities, on May 2, an officer arrived at 3296 Palm Avenue after receiving reports of a robbery.
An arrest report said the officer met with a victim, who saw surveillance video that showed a man breaking the slot machine with something that appeared to be a metal stick.
The victim told the officer that Izaguirre was at the establishment, playing on the slot machine, leaving the place, and going to his car and opening the trunk, the report said.
Izaguirre, the report said, was then seen going back inside while carrying the possible metal stick and then started to break the machine. The victim said Izaguirre then stole about $2,000 from the machine and fled the area.
The victim told the officer that Izaguirre had been at the location before, the report said.
On Monday, after reviewing the surveillance footage, the officer recognized Izaguirre, who was previously arrested on Sept. 18, 2025, for a similar crime, the report said.
Izaguirre was then taken into custody at his home, and during his arrest, the report said, his girlfriend confronted him, and he said he was being arrested because of the slot machines.
He was then taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
