Final Injury Report for Liberty-Fire: Will Sabrina Ionescu, Satou Sabally Play?

The New York Liberty are on the road on Tuesday night as they travel to take on the Portland Fire in an interconference matchup.

New York enters Tuesday’s game with a 2-0 record after defeating the Washington Mystics on the road in overtime on Sunday afternoon.

In Sunday’s victory over the Mystics, Breanna Stewart led the way for the Liberty as she recorded 23 points, nine rebounds and four assists while Marine Johannes added 25 points and two assists of her own.

Now New York will try to extend their winning streak to three games to being the season on Tuesday as they face off against the Fire on the road.

On the other side, Portland enters Tuesday’s contest with a 0-1 record after losing at home to the Chicago Sky on Saturday night.

Carla Leite led the way for the Fire in Saturday’s loss as she ended the game with 18 points, three rebounds and three assists while Bridget Carleton recorded 13 points and four assists.

While both teams are looking to pick up a victory in Tuesday night’s matchup, both squads may be without multiple key players due to injuries.

For the Liberty, they have six players listed on their injury report, including both Sabrina Ionescu and Satou Sabally.

New York has ruled out Ionescu due to a left foot injury as she will miss her third straight game to being the season and she is expected to miss at least another week.

The good news for the Liberty is that Ionescu did rejoin the team in Portland for Tuesday’s game after she missed Sunday’s game in Washington D.C.

The Liberty have also ruled out Sabally as she is away from the team due to a cyst as she will miss her third consecutive contest.

Rebecca Allen has also been ruled out as she remains sidelined with a left leg injury while Marine Fauthoux is out while recovering from ACL surgery.

Raquel Carrera and Leonie Fiebich have also been ruled out as they are both away from the team due to overseas commitments.

Fire Injury Report: Will Sug Sutton Play?

On the other side, the Fire have three players listed on their injury report, including guard Sug Sutton.

Portland has listed Sutton as questionable due to a right knee injury and she is in danger of missing her second straight game.

The Fire have also listed Kamiah Smalls as questionable with a left knee injury while Karlie Samuelson is out with a left foot injury.
