If you’re an ’80s or ’90s kid, there’s probably a good chance you remember spending Friday nights on the couch, watching ABC’s T.G.I.F. lineup. From Full House to Boy Meets World, so many iconic sitcoms had a slot during the popular evening block of TV.

That included Step by Step, the series about the ups and downs that happen when a couple (played by Suzanne Somers and Patrick Duffy) get married and blend their families. On the show, Angela Watson played Karen Foster, one of the couple’s teenage daughters. And now, decades later, she has some exciting news to share.

After Watson’s husband, Brian Nahas, shared an update on their son’s NICU journey, the news that she welcomed her first baby at age 48 has fans talking.

The couple’s baby, James, first arrived on July 18, 2024, when Watson was 48, as she shared in an Instagram post at the time. Now, her family is keeping the world updated on James’ progress after he has faced some serious medical challenges in his first year of life.

According to a GoFundMe set up by a friend, James was born with a “serious heart defect” that has required him to undergo multiple surgeries, including open heart surgery in March. After four months in the hospital following surgery, James then began inpatient rehabilitation, where he’s been for 18 days.

In his most recent update, Nahas wrote, “Now almost 18 lbs his personality is shining more, with unexpected hand waves, fun giggles and unexpected sweet sounds coming from him.”

In an Instagram post she shared on July 12, Watson called her son a “miracle child.”

Here’s hoping baby James continues to get stronger every single day! It looks like a lot of people out there are rooting for his recovery.
