“The Gracies” recognize programming and individual achievement created by women, for women, and about women across news and entertainment media. The awards are named in honor of Gracie Allen of Burns & Allen fame.
Koontz’s win marks her second Gracie in three years in the nationally syndicated radio host category.
Based in Baton Rouge on 96.1 The River, “Murphy Sam & Jodi” is currently syndicated to 87 cities across the United States through Premiere Radio Networks and Media 3 Entertainment, LLC, according to the press release.
Award winners will be honored at a gala on May 19 in Los Angeles, where Koontz is expected to accept the award in person. The event includes honorees across multiple media categories.
In a statement, Koontz said she was “thrilled” to receive another Gracie, calling it a win for the entire team and an honor to be recognized alongside other women in media.
The Gracie Awards are the AWMF’s largest fundraiser, supporting educational programs and scholarships that advance women in media.
