ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) – Join author Harold D. Baldwin on
Saturday, Aug. 23 for a kids’ hour reading at 11:30 a.m. and an adult hour
reading at 12:30 p.m. from his book “Up from Jackman.” A book signing will be held
after the readings until 1:30 p.m.

“Up from Jackman,” published in April, is meant for
parents, teachers and students. The book touches on the notion that with
determination and community support success can be achieved.

Baldwin was born in the rural South and received his
education at Bowie State College in Maryland. He was professionally employed by
the U.S. Government in Washington, D.C., and later in San Francisco.

After his government position, for a total of 25
years, Baldwin worked for the Elk Grove and San Juan unified school districts.
