Wallingford water main break closes part of Ward Street, officials say

WALLINGFORD — A part of Ward Street is expected to remain closed through Thursday evening as crews work to repair a broken water main, officials said. 

The break was reported around noon at the intersection of Quinnipiac Street, according to a Facebook post shared by the Town of Wallingford. 

Officials said Ward Street will remain closed from Quinnipiac Street to Valley Street through the evening, but did not specify when the work is expected to finish. 

“Please plan for detours and allow extra travel time in the area,” officials said. 

The Wallingford Police Department said the repair work is taking place in front of Sara J’s restaurant and that vehicles are being detoured from the area.
