More than 450 walkers and runners gathered at JetBlue Park Saturday morning to raise awareness for safer roads in Southwest Florida and end impaired driving.

The Move with MADD Fort Myers 5k brought out record breaking attendance numbers and raised $56,000 and counting for Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

MADD is a nonprofit that supports victims, survivors of impaired driving and works to end underage drinking.

According to MADD, someone reaches out for help every nine minutes. Funds raised from the 5K make those services free to families.
