About a year ago, Carolina Hurricanes forward Seth Jarvis smuggled a box of candy from a fan into his uniform while on the ice before a game.

Now the 24-year-old Jarvis is on a NERDS kick, busted by one of his friends who disclosed on social media that Jarvis keeps secret stashes of NERDS Gummy Clusters around his house. WRAL’s Pat Welter asked Jarvis about it this week.

It’s the longest break between #NHL playoff series since 1919. Thank God, because any shorter and I might not have been able to ask Seth Jarvis about the Nerd clusters he allegedly keeps stocked in his home bathroom. #Canes pic.twitter.com/bxm09uDk1R

“I got candy everywhere in the house,” Jarvis said. “You never know when you want a little candy. So I got NERDS in the bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, obviously, couch upstairs. Basically any room you can think of, there’s probably some candy sneaking around in there.”

He continued: “I have a different variety for every room. Different vibe for the room, different candy. It’s like ambience.”

Carolina hosts Montreal in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Final on Thursday at Lenovo Center. Jarvis has one goal and three assists in eight games for the Hurricanes this postseason. He had 23 goals and 34 assists in 71 regular-season games for Carolina.
