Election: Smith leading Doherty for District 57 House seat

MORROW COUNTY — Oregon State Rep. Greg Smith is leading challenger Jim Doherty on Tuesday, May 19, for the District 57 House seat by more than 200 votes, according to unofficial results from the Oregon Secretary of State’s office.
Smith, of Heppner, was leading as of 8:11 p.m., with just over 52% with 1,528 votes, while Doherty, of Boardman, garnered 47.5% with 1,345 votes.
If Smith wins, he will be serving his 14th term in the Oregon House.
