LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The North American beaver that was rescued in January was recently released back into the wild, according to Lincoln Animal Control.
The North American beaver was found covered in icicles while limping near a liquor store in Lincoln. The beaver was transported to The Baldwin Wildlife Center where he received specialized care.
On Jan. 24, Lincoln Animal Control received a call regarding a possible injured animal outside of a liquor store around 20th and O streets.
Animal control said, upon arrival, officers found a beaver in rough condition. The beaver was taken for further rehabilitation at Nebraska Wildlife Rehab.
Throughout his recovery, the team at Nebraska Wildlife Rehab addressed the beaver’s injuries and marked improvements to both his mobility and appetite, marking signs of improvement.
The resilient beaver made a full recovery and went on a sunset swim after he was released by Nebraska Wildlife Rehab.
