RENO, Nev. — The Reno Police Department assisted the Nevada Department of Wildlife with a bear sighting near Fourth Street and Keystone Avenue on Thursday, prompting authorities to ask the public to stay out of the area while crews worked to safely contain the animal.
The bear had climbed into a tree near a trailer park, where NDOW biologists and game wardens monitored the situation and worked to safely guide it down.
The bear later came down from the tree on its own and entered a culvert trap without incident.
