Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson is on Newcastle United’s radar during what remains of the summer transfer window.
Newcastle are interested in Jackson as Eddie Howe looks to bring in at least one new striker this summer.
The club need to replace Callum Wilson after he left upon the expiration of his contract, regardless of what happens with Alexander Isak. Wilson has now signed for West Ham.
Isak wants to leave Newcastle this summer amid interest from Liverpool, but the club currently look unlikely to sell him if they cannot sign a replacement.
Jackson is of interest at St James’ Park, with the recruitment team having to work down their list of targets. Joao Pedro and Liam Delap were both targeted but eventually joined the Blues, while Hugo Ekitike moved to Liverpool and Benjamin Sesko looks set for Manchester United.
Now, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed the latest on Jackson’s situation at Stamford Bridge.

With Pedro and Delap through the door in west London, Maresca has plenty of options on his hands.
As such, Jackson could be allowed to leave this summer.
On Thursday, Maresca confirmed that “anything can happen” with the forward.
“When the transfer window is open unfortunately anything can happen, this also involves Nico’s situation,” he said.

How much Chelsea want for Nicolas Jackson
Sources have told Geordie Boot Boys that Chelsea value Jackson at £80million.
That would smash Newcastle’s transfer record, which currently stands at the £63million paid for Isak in the summer of 2022.
Clearly, that is a huge price tag. Still, Newcastle were prepared to pay big money for Ekitike and Sesko this summer, so certainly appear ready to spend big in their pursuit of a new forward.
It is currently not known whether Newcastle view Jackson as a replacement for Wilson or Isak.
Jackson scored ten Premier League goals last season in 28 starts under Maresca.
