The Arizona Diamondbacks were happy to have Corbin Carroll back in the lineup Thursday.

The superstar outfielder was scratched in Wednesday’s series finale against the San Francisco Giants after being hit on the head by a relay throw on his first-inning triple Tuesday night. Although Carroll showed no concussion symptoms and felt good afterward, Arizona gave him the day off.

He returned in a big way Thursday night, delivering a walk-off single to lift the Diamondbacks past the Colorado Rockies 2-1. The win extended Arizona’s winning streak to five games and marked the club’s second walk-off win in its last three games.

Heading into the season, questions surrounded how productive Carroll would be offensively after suffering a broken hamate bone during Spring Training. However, the 25-year-old looks no different than in seasons past.

Through 46 games, Carroll is slashing .282/.390/.552 with seven home runs, 26 RBIs, and six stolen bases. His 2.6 bWAR ranks first on the Diamondbacks and 12th-best in MLB.

Carroll also extended his hitting streak to nine games Thursday and has been Arizona’s most consistent hitter throughout the season.

Despite multi-hit performances in four of his last five games, Ketel Marte still owns a lackluster .240 batting average and .296 on-base percentage. His chase rate is up from 24.8 percent last season to 34.6 percent this season, while his walk rate has fallen from 11.5 percent last season to 7.2 percent in 2026.

However, Marte has also been one of baseball’s unluckiest hitters this season. His expected weighted on-base average (.361) and expected batting average (.292) are indicative of that.

In addition to Marte, Geraldo Perdomo is batting just .222 after a breakout 2025 campaign in which he hit .290 with 20 home runs and 100 RBIs.

Offensive consistency from Arizona’s core trio will be critical if the Diamondbacks hope to make the postseason.

Arizona currently sits at 26-23, good for third place in the NL West and two games behind the St. Louis Cardinals for the final National League Wild Card spot.
