Venus, who turns 46 next month, was named on the Paris doubles acceptance list earlier this month.
She lost to sister Serena in the 2002 Roland-Garros singles final, and they teamed up to claim the doubles trophy twice in 1999 and 2010.
Williams has also won seven major singles titles and held both the singles and doubles world No.1 ranking.
There will be no title defence for last year’s women’s champions Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini as Errani will join with young Austrian Lilli Tagger, who won the girls’ singles in 2025.
