WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) – Wausau Police are urging people to avoid walking near the 700 block of Forest Street near downtown Wausau.
Police have received several reports of a black bear and her cub. They ask people to stay away from the area so as not to stress the bears and keep everyone safe.
Lt. Nate Stetzer of the Wausau Police Department tells NewsChannel 7 they will continue to monitor the animals. He said the police and the Wisconsin DNR will not intervene or try to push the animals out of the area.
