NASCAR and iRacing video game NASCAR 25 will launch Oct. 14 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a PC release on Steam set for a later date.
The NASCAR Cup Series, Xfinity Series, Craftsman Truck Series and ARCA Menards Series will all be featured in NASCAR 25, and gamers will be able to race as or against real drivers in each of those series.
Perhaps most intriguing to NASCAR fans is the brand-new Career Mode, which will allow players to “customize your own driver and vehicles, manage contracts, money, facility, and staff, and make strategic choices on and off the track that play a pivotal role in your journey to becoming a NASCAR Cup Series champion,” per a press release.
Career Mode has long been a staple in NASCAR video games, but many of the best versions were in games released 20 or more years ago, including NASCAR: Dirt to Daytona and NASCAR 2005: Chase for the Cup.
The NASCAR 25 Career Mode looks to be more in depth than ever before with gamers having the chance to work their way from the ARCA Menards Series, all the way up to Cup Series champion.
For the first time ever, iRacing will serve as the publisher for a NASCAR console video game after purchasing the rights from Motorsport Games.
Despite that, iRacing has a sterling reputation among fans of NASCAR video games due to its production of online games over the years.
In addition to iRacing serving as the publisher, developers who worked on popular NASCAR video games of the past such as NASCAR Racing 2003, NASCAR: Dirt to Daytona and the NASCAR Thunder series are involved with the creation of NASCAR 25 as well.
When it releases in October, NASCAR 25 will mark the first console release of a simulation NASCAR video game since 2021, and the first console NASCAR game of any kind since NASCAR Arcade Rush in 2023.
