TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Foundation of Architecture hosted a design class on Sunday.
The workshop taught people how to create their own blueprint designs using cyanotypes. Cyanotypes use the sun to reproduce technical drawings and blueprints.
Participants used various found objects, such as natural materials and Tulsa inspired blueprints to make their own designs.
“So the cyanotype process has been around since 1842 and it’s still done in the exact same way as it was done back then,” said Malinda Blank, Executive Director of TFA. “It’s an easy way to make reproductions and original art and is the primary way blueprints were made, hence where they got their name from the cyan color.”
The arts and crafts fun included complimentary drinks for those who participated to enjoy.
