Victor Wembanyama continues to do impressive things on the basketball court, seemingly with ease, including pulling up for shots from just past halfcourt and nailing them.
He did it in Game 1, and then again last night in the San Antonio Spurs‘ second win of the Western Conference Finals.

Previously, he pulled up to tie the game with much higher stakes as his team battled the Oklahoma City Thunder into double overtime.
This time, it was with his team holding a double-digit lead just before halftime, but why not make the most of having another opportunity to add to the lead?
The 7-foot-4 big man out of France casually dribbled to halfcourt with a few seconds on the clock and swished a logo shot, giving his team a 50-38 halftime lead over the defending champions in a crucial Game 4.

“Doesn’t seem like you make a whole lot of [halfcourt shots] when you’re messing around [after practices]. What did you think making that one going into halftime?” a reporter asked Wemby postgame.

“I was just thinking shoot to score,” he responded. “I wasn’t messing around at halftime.”
That’s the sort of response his coach, teammates, and San Antonio Spurs fans want to hear. It’s the determination and focus of a player who wants to do all he can to ensure his team wins games.
And they did, as San Antonio dominated a banged-up OKC team that was playing without Jalen Williams and AJ Mitchell due to injuries. Webanyama had 33 points, eight rebounds, five assists, two steals, and three blocks in his latest performance.
The Spurs took Game 4, 103-82, which evened this Western Conference Finals at 2-2. The scene will shift back to Oklahoma City for Game 5, where Wembanyama and company already claimed the first game in an all-out battle.

In that game, the Spurs’ center finished with an epic 41-point, 24-rebound, three-block performance not seen since the legends of the past. However, watching Wembanyama’s on-court abilities and highlights, you can see he is already emerging as the next basketball legend.
Let’s face it, this is Wemby’s world, and at 22, he’s only just getting started with his NBA takeover.
