TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – You can get a better understanding of your financial situation through an upcoming free event.
The City of Topeka and Azura Credit Union are partnering for the Money Moves pop-up initiative. Monique Glaude with city’s Office of Inclusive Communities and Jackie Anderson with Azura visited Eye on NE Kansas to share the details.
Glaude said the idea came about as her office brainstormed what type of information people had expressed a need for. She said they wanted to provide information in an accessible manner that didn’t make people feel uncomfortable or embarrassed.
Anderson said the event is meant to be casual. People can gain information about budgeting, saving, credit and financial planning by talking directly with experts, asking questions or picking up information in a casual setting.
The Money Moves Pop-Up Initiative from the City of Topeka and Azura Credit Union runs 5:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 28 in the Azura parking lot at 610 SW 10th.
It’s a free event. In keeping with the casual atmosphere, it will outdoors in the parking lot, so people are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs.
