Rasmus Hojlund’s desire to stay at Manchester United is about to be put to the test.
A week ago with Benjamin Sesko transfer rumours ramping up, and fresh off a pre-season friendly goal against Bournemouth, Rasmus Hojlund declared he intended to stay at Manchester United.
A deal for Sesko has now been agreed, with the striker flying in for his medical.
Hojlund’s resolve to stay is set to be tested, with interested clubs now set to ramp up their pursuit of his signature.

The biggest interest in Rasmus Hojlund has come from Italian clubs, with Inter Milan, AC Milan, Roma and Juventus all keen.
However, there have been no permanent offers, with the Serie A sides pursuing loan moves.
Manchester United would prefer a permanent sale, which would leave the club in a stronger financial position.
Claims from Italy suggest United are set to relent on their stance, and sanction a loan move for the Danish striker, with AC Milan pushing.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports: United have agreed to a loan deal with an option for Hojlund, and Milan, given the deal’s terms, are currently in pole position to bring him into the team.”
Di Marzio adds: “However, the player’s approval for his departure is still pending.”
Manchester United talks with Hojlund expected
Manchester United are expected to stay open to offers, while holding talks with Hojlund and his representatives over the coming days.
It will be interesting to see if he plays in Saturday’s friendly against Fiorentina at Old Trafford.
Sesko is set to be unveiled at the game, but it is a long-shot that he plays so soon. United took a cautious approach with Bryan Mbeumo, only playing him in the final US tour game.
United will keep Hojlund aware of offers, and open the door to a move if the terms are suitable.
But he has not been ostracised like Alejandro Garnacho and Jadon Sancho.
This case is more similar to West Ham’s offer for Harry Maguire two seasons ago, when United accepted a bid.
Maguire chose to stay and fight for his place, and if that is what Hojlund chooses to do this season, United may have to keep him.
It will be up to United, and interested clubs, to persuade him that a move is in his best interests.
