A Harvard University campus alert went out on May 21, reporting an assault and battery at the Lowell House residence hall around 5:30 p.m.The alert stated the suspect entered the dorm by following another person into the building.The suspect reportedly approached a victim from behind and tried covering the victim’s mouth before forcing them into the room.”The victim screamed, prompting several nearby residents to exit their rooms, at which point the suspect fled the area,” the Harvard University Police Department wrote in the alert.The victim did not report any physical injuries.The MIT Police Department later issued a campus warning describing a similar incident at Sidney Pacific, an MIT residence hall at 70 Pacific St. in Cambridge.MIT police described the suspect as a white man with a thin build, standing about 5 feet, 9 inches tall, wearing a white T-shirt and dark-colored shorts, according to the alert. The department included a surveillance image of the suspect in the campus warning.It’s unclear if the suspect arrested for the Harvard assaults is the same person who committed the MIT incidents.
