Created with the influence of an architect-author, the mansion at 30 Meadowcroft Lane, Greenwich has hit the market.
The 11,211-square-foot colonial was built in 2018. Among its rooms are a foyer, dining room, office, study, gym, billiards room, six bedrooms and seven full and three half bathrooms, according to its listing. It has features like nine-foot ceilings, custom finishes and large steel-framed windows designed to allow natural light through.
The outdoor area of the 2.31-acre property has a jogging and biking path, covered terraces, as well as a Groppa saline in-ground pool with a spa. The gardens were designed by the Greenwich landscape firm Joseph Pajonas Studio
The residence was designed in collaboration with architect William D. Earls. Earls is the author of the 2006 book “The Harvard Five in New Canaan: Midcentury Modern Houses by Marcel Breuer, Landis Gores, John Johansen, Philip Johnson, Eliot Noyes & Others.” The book gives a chronological tour of 35 houses built by the renowned architects who were known as the Harvard Five.
Earls also worked on the restoration of the Gores Pavilion at 848 Weed St., New Canaan. Designed by Landis Gores in 1960 as a pool house and winter lodge for Jack Irwin and Jane Watson, the pavilion is now part of the New Canaan Museum & Historical Society’s collection.
