Iran said Monday that it was breaking off talks with the Trump administration to end the war and reopen the Strait of Hormuz following an uptick in U.S. and Israeli strikes in the region.
An Iranian official briefed on the talks told The Washington Post that negotiations were suspended because of Israel’s escalating military attacks in Lebanon. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to brief the media.
