OSWEGO, N.Y. — The City of Oswego is issuing a boil water advisory for part of city after a water main break late Thursday night.

The water main break caused water pressure to be lost from 472 W 1st St. to Munn St. on W. 1st Street. This area is highlighted in pink on the map provided by the city.

Until further notice, if you are in that area impacted, boil your water before using it for:

DrinkingMaking iceWashing dishesBrushing teethPreparing food

The city provided the following instructions: “bring tap water to a rolling boil, boil for at least one minute, then allow it to cool before using. Alternatively, you may use bottled water certified for sale by the New York State Department of Health.

The advisory will last until the necessary repairs can be made, this will be at least 48 hours. Crews are on scene now, according to the city.
