If you’re a sports radio host in Dallas, you pretty much never run out of things to talk about.
With a sports scene like D-FW’s, from the Cowboys drama to the Rangers, Mavericks and Stars to a hotbed of college sports fandoms, there’s never a dull moment in Dallas sports radio. And some of the same voices have been doing it for decades.
Dallas has two full-time sports radio stations in 96.7 FM/1310 The Ticket (KTCK-AM) and 105.3 The Fan (KRLD-FM). While they’re usually warring over ratings, both stations are loaded with talent and longevity.

Here’s a list of the five longest-tenured weekday sports radio hosts on the Dallas airwaves, some of them even having been on since the Cowboys were winning Super Bowls — yes, that long!
5. Gavin Dawson — The Fan
The General of the G-Bag Nation has been on the Dallas airwaves since 2010. He’s the lead host for The Fan’s afternoon drive show from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
4. Donovan Lewis — The Ticket

The Ticket’s “Donnie Doo” has been with the station since 2006 when he joined up with BaD Radio, and later served as midday partner to Dallas sports radio legend Norm Hitzges.

From the Hitzges “coaching tree,” if you will, he’s taken over Ticket middays and now hosts The Invasion with Matt McClearin from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
3. Bob Sturm — The Ticket
Once the ‘B’ in BaD Radio, Sturm came to Dallas from Wisconsin and brought his hardcore football knowledge with him.
After working with Dan McDowell for over a decade, Sturm took over as the co-host of The Hardline in 2020 after the retirement of another Dallas radio legend, Mike Rhyner.

2. Corby Davidson — The Ticket

Davidson was originally one of The Ticket’s first interns. Now “The Snake” has been a member of its afternoon drive show for 20 years, teaming up with Sturm in 2020 to begin a new era of The Hardline after Rhyner, Davidson’s longtime co-host, left the station.
1. The Musers — The Ticket

The three-way tie for first place goes to George Dunham, Craig Miller and Gordon Keith, a.k.a “The Musers” of The Ticket’s morning drive. Not only are they the longest-tenured sports show in Dallas, they’re the longest-running morning show, period. They’ve also been the top-rated show in the market since 1995.

Inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame in 2023, The Musers make it hard to argue who the kings of Dallas sports radio are.
