HENDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. – A member of the United States Marshals Service shot and killed a man during an attempted arrest.
The Marshals Service said a member of the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force was trying to carry out the arrest of a 44-year-old man in Henderson County who failed to appear in court on multiple felony warrants. Henderson County is about 115 miles northeast of Memphis.
Authorities said the agent fired “in response to a threat posed by the subject.” The 44-year-old man died as a result of the shooting.
