Angel Reese still hasn’t gotten the best of her WNBA rival, Caitlin Clark, but at least she achieved a new team record in the Atlanta Dream’s 83-71 road loss against the Indiana Fever on Thursday night in the Commissioner’s Cup.
Reese was one of the four starters who scored double-digit points for the Dream, having notched 11 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and two blocks on 4-for-9 shooting from the field in 31 minutes.
By doing so, the two-time All-Star became the fastest to register 100 points and 100 rebounds in franchise history, as it took her only nine games, per ESPN Insights on X (formerly known as Twitter).
Breaking records is no longer new for Reese. Three weeks ago, she also became the fastest player in WNBA history to notch 50 career double-doubles during her Dream debut, a dramatic 91-90 comeback victory against the Minnesota Lynx. She reached the milestone in 65 games, surpassing a mark previously held by Tina Charles (75 games).

Atlanta Dream will rue their missed opportunities against Indiana Fever
The Atlanta Dream dropped their opening Commissioner’s Cup game against the Indiana Fever, as they missed a lot of field goal attempts in the paint tonight, converting only 24 of their 41 attempts in the shaded area.
“I think we got some good shots, but when they’re not falling, you have to get back for a team like Indiana. Their transition (offense) really started to go. Then when you’re not getting stops, it’s harder for us to get in transition. I think that swing of like their possessions being a little bit easier, being able to just leak out, get open shots in transition,” Dream forward Naz Hillmon told reporters postgame.
As for Angel Reese, while she hit an incredible milestone tonight, she is now 1-5 in her career matchups against Caitlin Clark. Look for her and the Dream to bounce back against the Washington Mystics on Saturday.
