Vehicle fire leaves I-75 Nouthbound blocked in Collier County

OCHOPEE Fla.– A vehicle fire is blocking the northbound lanes heading to the Gulf Coast at Mile Marker 57.

Fire crews are currently putting out the fire.

Florida Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred at about 2:15 Saturday morning.

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office confirmed deputies are on scene at the 57 mile marker on I-75 due to a vehicle collision.

All lanes traveling both northbound and southbound are temporarily closed earlier in the morning, but southbound lanes opened hours later.

FDOT cameras show miles of backups and drivers standing on the roadway as they wait for the northbound lanes to reopen.
