THIS IS KCRA THREE NEWS AT 430. WE CONTINUE TO FOLLOW BREAKING NEWS OUT OF AMADOR COUNTY. EVACUATIONS NOW EXPANDING DUE TO THIS FIRE EAST OF PIONEER NEAR THE COMMUNITY OF BUCKHORN. LIVECOPTER3 IS OVERHEAD RIGHT NOW. WE KNOW THAT 84 ACRES HAVE BURNED. THE GOOD NEWS HERE IS THAT AS OUR METEOROLOGIST, DIRK VERDOORN HAS BEEN WATCHING THE CONDITIONS, HE’S BEEN SEEING THE SMOKE REALLY LIGHTNING UP, WHICH COULD BE A GOOD INDICATION THAT THE FIRE CREWS DO INDEED HAVE A BETTER HANDLE ON THIS FIRE THAN THEY DID JUST A COUPLE OF HOURS AGO. SO LET’S BRING YOU UP TO DATE NOW ON THE MANDATORY EVACUATIONS. IN EFFECT, THESE ARE EAST OF HIGHWAY 88. THEY HAVE ALREADY INCLUDED BLACK PRINCE ROAD, BELDEN MINE ROAD, TIGER CREEK ROAD, STEPHANIE WAY AND SUNCATCHER LANE. THERE ARE ALSO EVACUATIONS FOR MACE MEADOWS GOLF COURSE AND THE COMMUNITY OF BARTON. THE RED CROSS HAS SET UP A SHELTER AT THE AMADOR SENIOR CENTER. THAT’S AT 229 NEW YORK RANCH ROAD IN JACKSON, AND THEY HAVE AN ANIMAL SHELTER SET UP AT LAWTON RANCH, WHICH IS AT 90 CLINTON ROAD IN JACKSON. AND JUST TO BE CLEAR, BECAUSE THEY JUST UPDATED THESE MANDATORY FIRE EVACUATIONS, WE SAY EAST OF 88, IT GETS A LITTLE CONFUSING BECAUSE 88 RUNS WEST TO EAST. SO NORMALLY YOU WOULD SAY SOUTH OF IT, BUT IT’S AN AREA OF 88 THAT KIND OF SNAKES UP NORTHWARD RIGHT THROUGH THE COMMUNITY OF BARTON. AND SO THOSE ADDITIONAL ROADS THAT ARE IN THERE WHERE THE MANDATORY EVACUATIONS ARE NOW INCLUDE LAKE DRIVE, BARTON ROAD, SILVER DRIVE, ALPINE DRIVE, AS WELL AS CEDAR HEIGHTS DRIVE, MACKENZIE DRIVE, ALPINE LANE. SO THEY’RE THEY’RE TAKING PRECAUTIONS. THEY’RE GETTING PEOPLE EVACUATED IN THIS PARTICULAR AREA. JUST IN THE EVENT THAT THIS FIRE REALLY DOES MAKE A RUN TO THE NORTH, THEY’VE DONE A GOOD JOB OF LAYING DOWN LINES, WHICH WE’RE SEEING THEM DO RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF US TO TRY TO SEPARATE THE FLAMES FROM THESE COMMUNITIES. BUT JUST IN CASE THEY NOW HAVE THESE MANDATORY FIRE EVACUATIONS FOR PRETTY MUCH ALL OF BARTON, THAT IS RIGHT THERE, WHETHER YOU WANT TO SAY EAST OR JUST SOUTH OF HIGHWAY 88. SO WE’RE GOING TO KEEP MONITORING T
