A tense night left diplomats on edge, with Tehran accusing Israeli strikes of undermining fragile talks. Officials say indirect channels remain strained.
There were new exchanges of fire between Iran and Israel late at night, which, according to Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei, will deteriorate the already chaotic diplomatic process with the United States, and Tehran is exchanging messages with Washington in an atmosphere of extreme suspicion.
Baghaei stated that Israel’s actions in Lebanon, whether with the knowledge and consent of the United States or not, were aimed at undermining diplomacy. He emphasized that Washington, as a participant in the ceasefire regime since April 8, bears direct responsibility for any violations, including attacks attributed to Israel, and noted that the world should be concerned about the threat of a broader regional conflict.

In addition, he noted that the visit of Pakistan’s interior minister to Tehran on Sunday was part of efforts to continue indirect contacts with Washington.
Baghaei also stated that Iran will respond to any resolution against it during the meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors this week. He stressed that the IAEA should weigh the reality of the conflict and avoid biased political views that undermine the agency’s legitimacy.
