MADISON, Wis. — Artists, sound engineers, music teachers and students gathered Sunday night to celebrate local musicians at the annual MAMA Awards.

Atwood Music Hall hosted the event organized by the Madison Area Music Association, a group dedicated to supporting young musicians through various scholarships and programs designed to get instruments into children’s hands.

The ceremony brought together members of Madison’s music community to recognize outstanding contributions and achievements in the local music scene.

Cooper Talbot, who served as co-master of ceremonies for the event, emphasized the organization’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of musicians.

“You know, as the song says, that children are our future and we have to give them every tool and resource available for their success,” Talbot said. “And if music is what they want, let’s give them everything that they need to be rock stars all day long.”

The Madison Area Music Association has established itself as a key supporter of youth music education in the area. Through its scholarship programs and instrument distribution initiatives, the organization works to ensure that financial barriers don’t prevent young people from pursuing their musical interests.
