Motorcyclist dies in crash with semitruck in Herriman

HERRIMAN — A motorcyclist is dead after police say he crashed into a semitruck in Herriman Monday morning.

Herriman police officer Jen Fairbanks said a semitruck and motorcycle were both heading west on 12600 South. She said the motorcycle hit the semitruck at Mountain View Corridor at approximately 6:45 a.m.

The man riding the motorcycle died at the scene, Fairbanks said. His identity was not released, but he was said to be in his early forties.

12600 South was closed in both directions while police investigated. Fairbanks said the road would remain closed for some time.
