NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — State records show Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga fired a nurse for stealing drugs and artificial intelligence didn’t pick up on the warning signs, our sister station WTVC reports.

That nurse is John Stevenson, who admitted to investigators he had been stealing leftover fentanyl.

Doctors at John’s Hopkins Hospital tell WTVC they have humans overseeing similar technology, but that isn’t a law.

FOX 17 News’ Johnny Maffei reached out to the Tennessee Department of Health and Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.’s Office to see if they will look into changing this rule.
