BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) – A new exhibit in Washington, D.C., celebrates our nation’s history by highlighting 250 objects that speak to our founding ideals: one for each year of the United States of America.
It’s called “In Pursuit of Life, Liberty and Happiness,” and it’s at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History.
There are articles and artifacts, but also classic “must-sees,” like the “Gunboat Philadelphia” and the desk Thomas Jefferson used to draft the Declaration of Independence,
Also included: new items rarely brought out from the archives, like a nine-foot surfboard that was used in 1928.
In Pursuit of Life, Liberty and Happiness” will be on display through the end of the year.
