MACON, Mo. — A potentially dangerous incident at a northeast Missouri convenience store fortunately ended with no one getting hurt.
Around 9:30 a.m. Monday at Casey’s General Store on East Briggs Drive in Macon, a car slammed into the front of the building.
Macon Police Chief Joey Roberts told KTVO that an 84-year-old man from Bevier, Missouri, got his foot stuck between the brake and accelerator, causing his car to accelerate forward and crash into one of the front doors, breaking the glass out of it and damaging a few of the bricks on the lower exterior wall.

A couple of good Samaritans helped the man get out of his car before emergency crews arrived.
Roberts said the driver was not hurt, but he was checked out by medical personnel at the scene as a precaution.
No pedestrians or anyone inside the store was injured.
