County police said eight men are facing charges in connection with the death of an incarcerated individual at the Allegheny County Jail. On May 13, 2026, the Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit was requested to investigate the assault of an inmate inside a cell at the Allegheny County Jail.The individual, who was later identified as 44-year-old Tyrone Good, was taken to an area hospital for treatment, where he later died. Police said in a release that surveillance video showed six inmates entering Good’s cell at 12:44 pm. Two others were seen entering Good’s cell minutes later. Detectives said they believe the incident that occurred inside the cell lasted almost seven minutes. After consulting with the district attorney’s office, police have charged 24-year-old Kendall McKoy; Justin Allen, 25; Delvonte Woodson, 20; 18-year-old Jerrell Rockymore; Mark Beavers, 27; Tavarius Lee, 20; Shawn Davis, 23; and 24-year-old Anthony Schmitt.The men are facing charges including criminal homicide, criminal conspiracy, and tampering with physical evidence. On May 13, 2026, the Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit was requested to investigate the assault of an inmate inside a cell at the Allegheny County Jail.

The individual, who was later identified as 44-year-old Tyrone Good, was taken to an area hospital for treatment, where he later died.
