EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – Evansville Police Department officials say a man is in jail after he broke the windows of a post office and attacked a police officer.
According to a police report, officers responded to the post office in the 800 block of Sycamore Street for reports of the bank’s windows that had been shattered.
Officials say when police arrived on scene, they found a man, later identified 42-year-old Junior Desir, walking by their cruiser.
They say when officers rolled their windows down, Desir reached in, grabbed an officer’s arm and tugged on it.
Officials say he was quickly placed into handcuffs and later admitted he broke the windows at the post office.
He’s being held in the Vanderburgh County jail without bond and faces the following charges:
