LOXAHATCHEE, Fla.— A Ridglan Farms beagle believed to have been killed in an alligator attack in Florida was found alive, according to Big Dog Ranch Rescue. 

Omelette was spotted running across the road and safely recovered. During the search, a deceased dog was found in a canal approximately 100 feet from the adopter’s home. Big Dog Ranch Rescue said due to the similar coloring and the condition of the remains, the rescue believed it may have been Omelette. 

Omelette will be headed to a foster home while the rescue determines next steps for his future.
