Dynasty Launches Consulting Group Via Acquisition

Dynasty Financial Partners, a St. Petersburg, Fla.-based registered investment advisor support platform, is starting a management consulting division for RIAs through the acquisition of Optima Group.

Dynasty Consulting Group will be live in a few weeks after Optima Group and its team of three join the firm, including president Kenneth Hoffman. Hoffman will head Dynasty’s consulting division, which will look to work with independent RIAs on growth and value-creation strategies.

Optima Group, founded in 1979, works with firms to identify growth strategies, define their identities and execute marketing programs, the company said.

In recent years, Dynasty has grown to more than 725 advisors and over $125 billion in client assets. By bringing on Optima it can now add to its RIA platform, investment bank, and lead generation tools, a “truly sophisticated consulting” offer, Dynasty CEO Shirl Penney said in a statement.

Mariner Adds to First Responder Focus With $218M Firm

Mariner, an Overland Park, Kan.-based national financial services firm, announced an agreement to acquire Atlantic Wealth Partners, a Jupiter, Fla.-based advisory firm advising on approximately $218 million in client assets, with a focus on first responders.

Founded by Steve Olson, Atlantic Wealth Partners has built a practice around serving first responders in Palm Beach and Martin counties. Its three advisors are expected to join Mariner upon the transaction’s close on June 30, 2026, the company said.

“First responders dedicate their lives to serving their communities while navigating financial situations that are often uniquely complex,” said Marty Bicknell, president and CEO of Mariner, in a statement. “Atlantic Wealth Partners has earned trust by understanding those realities and building lasting relationships within the communities they serve. Their addition strengthens an important area of focus for Mariner and aligns with our purpose to positively impact the lives of many.”

Through Mariner Institutional, the firm advises on about $35 billion in assets across 256 retirement plans for police, fire and public safety personnel.

MAI Capital Grows in Northeast With $273M Saybrook Wealth Group

MAI Capital Management, a Cleveland-based RIA owned by private equity firm Carlyle, has acquired Saybrook Wealth Group, an Old Saybrook, Conn.-based RIA with about $273 million in AUM.

Founded in 2007 by Stephen Norton, Saybrook is a fee-only, fiduciary practice providing investment management and financial planning to more than 300 households.

“What stood out to us about Stephen and the Saybrook team is how intentionally they’ve grown their practice around listening first and planning second,” said Rick Buoncore, chairman and CEO of MAI, in a statement.

Norton will continue serving clients in his new role as a senior wealth advisor at MAI, and Saybrook will assume the MAI name. 

$3.3B Crewe Advisors Sell Minority Stake to WPCG

Crewe Advisors LLC, a Salt Lake City-based RIA with about $3.3 billion in AUM, has sold a minority stake to RIA investors Wealth Partners Capital Group and HGGC, to fuel both organic and inorganic growth projects. 

Founded in 2015 by Managing Partner Ryan Halliday, Crewe is a wealth management firm with an additional office in Scottsdale, Ariz., offering investment management, financial planning and family office services.

The management team of Crewe will remain the majority shareholders and continue to lead the firm’s operations, the company said.

“Since our first meeting with Crewe in 2019, it has been clear that Ryan and his team are building a differentiated business,” said Sean Bresnan, founding partner of WPCG, in a statement.

The transaction is subject to approvals and is expected to close in June 2026.
