CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) – Old Town Cape will host a kickoff event for its 2026 Downtown Sculpture Exhibition.
The exhibition will feature six large-scale sculptures installed along the downtown corridor. Works are selected annually through a juried process that includes submissions from local, regional and national sculptors, organizers said.
The sculptures will be on display from June 2026 through June 2027, giving residents and visitors a year to view the installations. Old Town Cape representatives say most of the sculptures will be available for purchase.
The kickoff event is scheduled for 5 to 8 p.m., June 27 at Ivers Square. The event is a family art festival where the selected sculptures will be announced and artists recognized.
Attendees will have an opportunity to meet the artists.
Additional activities are planned, including pottery, sidewalk chalk art, plein air painting, dance performances, live music, button making, and other displays. Food and craft vendors will also be on site. Admission is free, and children’s activities are free.
