Family-owned Bullitt County golf course to close after more than 50 years

A golf course in Bullitt County is closing in July after being open for more than 50 years. Pennsylvania Run Golf Course owner, Vickie Emberson, announced on Facebook Wednesday that it will close on July 24. In the post, Emberson thanked the community for years of support. She mentioned the dedication she and her siblings, Susie and Matt, put in as they continued what their parents started. “It has been a pleasure being your, no tee time required, last choice, last minute or your planned decision to play, golf course,” Emberson said in the post. Mathew and Louise Emberson, the owners parents, opened the course in 1970. It is located at 12900 Christman Drive. Emberson said the golf course will hold an in-person auction on Aug. 15 and previews will be held on Aug. 7 and Aug. 14.
