Merrill has also extended its ranks in California with a $450 million team from Morgan Stanley, while Raymond James adds a seasoned Edward Jones advisor to its independent channel.

TritonPoint Partners, the Chevy Chase, Maryland-based independent advisory firm powered by Dynasty Financial, has announced its second father-and-son advisory team addition.

Based in Huntington Beach, California, and Indianapolis, Indiana, respectively, Carlos and Matthew Sanchez specialize in business-owner wealth planning and divorce-related financial planning, working with clients facing pivotal transitions including business succession, liquidity events and significant life changes.

Carlos Sanchez has been in the industry for 32 years while Matthew began as an investment advisor registered with Schwab jsut over a decade ago, according to their repsective public disclosure records with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The veteran Sanchez pointed to TritonPoint’s “flexibility, resources, and planning capabilities” as part of its ability to “support our growth while allowing us to remain focused on clients.”

Matthew Sanchez highlighted the importance of providing “clarity and structure” for their clients as “family, business, and financial concerns are all in play at once.”

The Sanchezes follow Richard Sichel and Robert Sichel, a father-and-son team based in Princeton, N.J., who joined TritonPoint last month after managing approximately $350 million in client assets at their previous firm.

TritonPoint Partners’ most recent Form ADV shows it has approximately $786 million in assets under management,  while its older sibling firm, TritonPoint Wealth, manages approximately $1.55 billion.

Merrill lands $450M father-son team from Morgan Stanley

Merrill also announced its own father-son addition on Monday, as Steve Keller and Cole Keller have joined its Monterey/Carmel office in California.

The two arrive with $450 million in client assets from Morgan Stanley, where they most recently reported $1.8 million in production.

They are joined by wealth management associate Catherine Marino-Edwards.

Steve Keller brings more than 30 years of industry experience to the role, including a history with Morgan Stanley going back to 2007, according to his BrokerCheck profile.

In North Carolina, Raymond James recently welcomed veteran advisor Bernie Franko to its independent advisor channel.

Before joining Raymond James Financial Services, Franko managed $200 million in client assets over the course of a 12-year tenure, according to the firm. 

All in all, he brings 28 years of financial services experience to RJFS, where he now operates as Franko Wealth Management. 

He is supported by client service managers Dwayne Guy and Jill Willard as he serves individuals, families and small businesses with a focus on personalized financial planning and wealth management guidance.

“Raymond James’ client-first culture, technology platform and independent model align with the way we serve clients best,” Franko said in a statement.

Just last month, Raymond James announced another addition from Edward Jones in the Sun Belt as it welcomed Tucson, Arizona-based Tom Palomares.
