World News Updates: Gunmen attack boat off Ecuador’s coast, kill four; dozens missing
A deadly assault unfolded off Ecuador’s southwest coast on Friday evening when dozens of armed men attacked a passenger boat in the province of El Oro.
According to local media reports, about 60 gunmen surrounded the vessel before opening fire on those aboard and hurling explosives at it. Witnesses told the newspaper Extra that at least four people were killed in the attack, while more than a dozen others remain unaccounted for.
